IBAK AlliGATOR Cutter System – (10 in. Pipeline Diameters)
The AlliGATOR is the largest electric cutting and grinding robot by IBAK Robotics for pipes with dimensions of 10 in. and up (250mm). The system is operated from a mobile system (or one installed into a service vehicle). The clamping cushions integrated between the upper and lower mobile housing can be filled with pressurized air where required. The clamping of the cushions presses the device’s wheels against the sewer pipe walls, thus increasing the traction of the camera tractor. This gives the robot a secure grip within the pipe and prevents vibration, allowing the cutting and grinding task to be executed precisely. The other advantage is that the robot is always positioned in the center of the pipe which makes grinding more accurately and user-friendly. Various wheel sizes and wheel attachments allow you to adapt the camera tractor to the size and shape of the pipe, so that the cutting module is always positioned in the center of the pipe.
The cutting and grinding unit can move on three axes: Axial movement (back and forth) is controlled by the forward or backward movement of the camera tractor. The rotating module allows reconstruction components to rotate by 360° in both directions (clockwise and counter-clockwise). Upward/downward motion is handled by a lift device on the robot head (stroke up to 195 mm). An additional cutting head mounting (providing a 4th axis) allows the cutting head to tilt. To ensure that the operator always has a clear view of the area being worked on, dust from the process is blown out of the sewer pipe using a ventilation system. The pan and rotate color camera can be cleaned during operation using water and a rubber blade.
The new pan and rotate color camera is based on IBAK know-how and technology. It has been developed especially for use with electric cutting and grinding robots. It is waterproof and designed to provide a view of all repair and grinding work. Its generous rotational area, along with an LED matrix, ensures the best possible view and lighting of the area being worked on. The camera lens and the LED matrix can be reliably cleaned during operation using water and a rubber blade, thus guaranteeing a permanent clear view. With the help of a gravitation sensor the operator has a better orientation in the sewer. The pressure sensor informs permanently about pressure tightness.
